Warm
Warm, healthy and generous, with Pinot Noir in front
A difficult spring and stormy July, then a warm, sunny August and the healthiest fruit many growers had seen. Generous, lower-acid wines, mainly declared by growers.
The harvest
Yield for sale 9,700 kg/ha during the financial crisis, with 1,700 held back until October 2010. Hail on 4 September in Hautvillers, Verzenay and Chouilly. The warmest year since 2003.

Ruinart Dom Ruinart Rosé 2009
A really lovely rosé with clean tones of blood orange, pink grapefruit and candied orange peel.
Krug Clos du Mesnil 2009
A Clos du Mesnil that is both concentrated and nuanced, showing rich white fruit, jasmine, herbs, chalk, citrus, grapefruit zest and white pepper.
Dom Pérignon Rosé 2009
A very pretty salmon-pink colour breaking towards orange. The nose is vinous and inviting, with aromas of red berries — raspberry and strawberry — alongside a hint of gunpowder minerality, light coffee notes and tonka bean.
