Bruno Paillard founded his house in January 1981, aged twenty-seven and without vineyards or capital, selling a collector's Jaguar to fund it — the first new house in the region in nearly a century.

Champagne's youngest serious house: founded on a sold Jaguar in 1981, and the first to print the disgorgement date on every bottle.
A lovely nose of yellow fruit with a light tropical edge, joined by fine notes of yeast and autolysis.
Lovely yellow fruit throughout, drawn tight by an acidity that keeps the whole thing from spreading out.
A pale salmon colour, with a nose dominated by red apple and blood orange over a clear chalk note — more orchard fruit than berry at first encounter.
A complex, rich nose offering ripe yellow fruit, chalk, citrus and brioche.
A lovely nose of yellow fruit, dried fruit, autolysis and butterscotch — twenty years on, and the aromatics have gone fully tertiary.
A fruit-driven nose offering yellow plum, yellow raspberry and apple — generous aromatics for a wine with nothing added to soften it.
A lovely, concentrated nose with floral notes over wild strawberry and rich, ripe apples — Pinot Noir in its red-fruited register, but with weight behind it.
The wine looks opulent — a pale salmon pink, appealing, with an energetic glow to it.
