Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2017
Extremely complex, this is rich and mineral, saline and gossamer-light, and taut at the same time.

Charles Heidsieck founded his house in Reims in 1851 at the age of 29, and within a year had sailed for New York as the first merchant to sell his own Champagne in America.

Champagne Charlie conquered America, went to a Louisiana prison for it, and left behind 47 Gallo-Roman chalk pits that still do the work.
Extremely complex, this is rich and mineral, saline and gossamer-light, and taut at the same time.
A powerful Champagne with a rich nose. Yellow fruit tones lead, with light tropical notes alongside them, and coconut and baked citrus running through.
The colour is a very light rosé. On the nose there is a clean scent of redcurrant and raspberry, with rose alongside them.
Citrus marks a lovely nose, appearing both as baked lemon and as bergamot, with green and yellow apples alongside.
Ripe tones of yellow fruit set the opening here, with both fresh citrus and baked notes of baked lemon, baked plums and light autolytic character alongside them.
Charles really always delivers, and that holds true across every format as well.
A lovely salmon colour. Clear notes of chalk, wild raspberry and wild strawberry, with light lactic tones reading almost as cherry yoghurt.
