Georges Laval did two radical things in Cumières in 1971: he began bottling the family's grapes under his own name instead of selling them to the houses, and he converted the vines to organic farming, certified by Ecocert.

Organic since 1971, three hectares of Cumières, and some of the most sought-after Champagne in the Marne behind a nameplate you can barely read.
A complex nose with lovely minerality, gunpowder, almost verging on flor.
The house style comes through clearly here. Notes of minerality, a light flor character and tones of rich white and yellow berries.
Unmistakably a wine from Georges Laval. Rich, yet fresh at the same time, yellow in its fruit, with notes of warm spice.
Floral and light, with a clear stamp of chalk. Spice follows, along with clean notes of yellow apple, ripe citrus and baked lemon.
