Leclerc Briant, founded in Cumières in 1872, was among the first in Champagne to abandon chemical fertilisers, one of the first to bottle single-vineyard cuvées in the 1970s, and biodynamic well before the region gave the idea any credit.

Biodynamic before anyone in Champagne took it seriously, and now ageing wine on the seabed off Brittany — the house that was nearly dismantled and bought back instead.

A lovely rich colour leaning towards raspberry. The nose is clear, with crowberry, lingonberry, raspberry and redcurrant.
